Skip the trek to Cannock Chase. There are high ropes, giant nets and proper woodland adventure right on Dudley's doorstep in Sedgley, suitable for families from Wolverhampton, Stourbridge and Wombourne.
If you've looked up a Go Ape near Dudley, you're probably already aware of the answer: there isn't one. The nearest locations are Go Ape Cannock Chase, a half hour drive north, and Go Ape Wyre Forest in Worcestershire, even further away. Both are brilliant family days out, but from Dudley or Sedgley, there's a lot of motorways before you get to the fun, and that's before considering fuel, parking and the "are we nearly there yet?" from the kids in the back of the car!
Fortunately, there's an exciting treetop adventure a lot closer to home, and it's been quietly delighting local families since 2016.
Is there a go Ape near dudley?
Let's clear this up first, because it's the question everyone types into Google. The closest Go Ape to Dudley is at Cannock Chase, roughly 25 to 35 minutes away depending on traffic. After that, you're looking at the Wyre Forest site near Bewdley, which is further still. Neither is exactly local, and once you factor in fuel, parking and the inevitable "are we nearly there yet?" from the back seat, the day can start to feel like an expedition.
So if you love the idea of treetop adventures, zip wires and a proper physical challenge — but you'd rather keep the travel to a minimum — it's worth knowing what's available right on your doorstep.

What You Can Do at Challenge Academy
Treetop adventures are guaranteed on this exhilarating course if it is something high, high octane you are seeking. On the High Ropes Course, they’ll rise into the treetops to conquer challenges of nerve and balance, and for junior visitors, even older ones that are up for a challenge, Our Nets Adventure will enable them to bounce, climb and crawl through a giant playground of suspended netting; this course is hugely popular with young children. For those who’d like to stay grounded our Obstacles & Bouldering provides great opportunities to build strength and confidence.
Woodland Challenge & Forest Skills are also on offer, for a fun, outdoorsy kind of experience that encourages hands on fun, for a truly wild experience. Every age and experience level can enjoy, including beginner first timers as well as those of us with a sense of daredevil! Our visitors love it too as it is a spectator friendly area where parents can capture great photos of children conquering their challenges and the park also welcomes your dog so all members of your family ( furry friends included) can enjoy.
