ACTIVE OUTDOOR LEARNING

Some schools want something more than ‘single session’ visits to our site. We can offer a number of bespoke solutions for educational establishments. You may want regular interventions or you might have a group with specific needs or outcomes. Whatever the need we are able to provide a solution at an affordable price. SEMH OUTDOOR LEARNING PROGRAMMES

We provide an exclusive environment where we deliver learning opportunities to young people with social, emotional and mental health challenges. Our main focus is to use adventure and problem solving activities in order to move participants outside of their comfort zone into their stretch zone where they can develop positive core values. Delivered by our senior team of facilitators, including trained teachers, outdoor practitioners and ex military instructors. We do not coerce and we always operate on a ‘Challenge by Choice’ basis.

All of our sessions are delivered by experienced teachers, outdoor practitioners and ex-military instructors who are great at helping people of all abilities to conquer their fears and reach new heights. Our aim is to ensure that every student learns something positive about themselves and others; we want everyone to leave at the end of the session feeling empowered and proud.

1-Hit Programmes

  • Fun, individual/team challenge, personal/team development and focus on learning. These programmes are targeted and we endeavour to always achieve desired outcomes: improved confidence, control, resilience, commitment. All in a caring, safe and positive environment. From £50 + vat per person based on 10 attending.

2-3 Session Programmes

  • Personalised learning, specific focus, changing behaviour, improving performance and attainment. Using a variety of experiential learning and encouragement of purposeful practice and reflection. From £50 + vat per person based on 10 attending.

6-8 Session Programmes

    • Progression throughout and MTQ48 Mental Toughness Measure* included. Targeted interventions may include employment skills and an element of classroom based learning is necessary. We also include an ofqual award if required (AIM Awards Personal Potential*) and a first aid qualification, dependant on ability. From £50 + vat per person based on 10 attending.

    REGULAR TIMESLOTS

    Ideal if you want a regular slot with Challenge Academy to achieve a long-term goal. This might be a provision for a class or year group, a sports club or ‘Outdoor Adventure’ option or a programme for a group of students at risk of exclusion. Having a regular slot means that we can be very competitive on price. We can also come to you.

    TARGETED INTERVENTIONS

    We can do impact programmes anywhere, anytime. We deliver a targeted intervention over a set period of time, normally 3 weeks or 6 weeks. These are suitable for any age and we use our most experienced facilitators. Remember that we have classroom space onsite so delivery of functional skills is also achievable

    YOU CAN DO IT

    Our 6-hour training course, Facilitation Skills for Experiential Learning, is accredited CPD with the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) and delivered by our senior facilitators (Led by Accredited Practitioners for IOL). This empowers your staff to deliver exceptional challenge programmes at your location and assist us at ours to keep the pricing down.

    EMPLOYABILITY COURSES

    The most important skills employers need require people to be mentally tough. Life skills that today’s employers value are mental toughness, effective communication, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, positivity, learning from criticism, working under pressure. Our senior facilitators will deliver an exceptional programme to your students at your place or ours.
