Challenge Academy prides itself on the delivery of fun, engaging and challenging activities where students will develop core soft skills. Due to the nature of the sessions, and to ensure a group receives the best learning experience possible, we provide fully qualified and experienced staff.  All of our activities are based on our resource ‘Terra Firma’ which we bring with us.

Our sessions are two hours long. The school can choose to use this as one session for a group or as two hourly sessions for two different groups. Duration of sessions and group sizes are negotiable (max 20 students per instructor – more if assisted by teaching staff).

Students will undertake a warm-up activity focussing on getting active and communicating.

The main body of the session will focus on one or more of the key core skills. Students will undertake a variety of activities that are fun, but test their ability to use the core skills.

Each task includes a brief, active facilitation, and a review.

Reference will be made throughout as to how students can successfully transfer core skills.

Senior Facilitator £150 per half day, £250 for a full day.  Our facilitators can cater for up to 20 students (more if supported by qualified teaching staff)

Challenge Academy team to deliver entire day: £10 per student

All of our programmes are engaging, fun with a real focus on the following core skills:

  • TRUST Understanding how trust works and how to build it.
  • COMMUNICATION How to watch, listen and interpret others effectively.
  • UNITY Connecting with others to develop both individually and as a team.
  • RESILIENCE Improving the ability to bounce back when faced with challenges.
  • RESPONSIBILITY Taking ownership and harnessing the power to shape outcomes.
  • CREATIVITY Fostering and enabling creativity and original thought.
  • RESOLUTION Showing how conclusions are reached and next steps are agreed.
  • PROGRESSION Ways to achieve the desired outcome and continue to develop.

By the end of the sessions your students will have a greater understanding of the core skills and how these can benefit them throughout their school life. Students will also have had great fun undertaking a variety of challenging and adventurous activities and will have enjoyed communicating, collaborating and competing with each other.

‘Some cracking feedback from the kids today, they really enjoyed it. And lots of positive feedback from the staff too, not only those who were with you but also others who had spoken to the students. So, thanks! Same time next year?!’ – Helen Giorgiou – Tudor Grange School

‘May I take this opportunity to thank you and your outstanding team for the superb three days you planned for us here at Oldbury Academy. The feedback I have had from staff, students, and even parents has been overwhelmingly positive and we are very grateful. Can you please pass this onto the guys that were with us, they are a credit to your organisation and I’m sure we’ll work again soon’ – Andrew Reece – Oldbury Academy

‘I just thought that I would send you a quick email to say how well the trip went on Sunday. The pupils really enjoyed themselves and it was one of the best trips that I have run all year. Your staff welcomed us and were excellent all day, especially Ali who met us and helped throughout the morning. We will definitely be coming back next year.’ – Liam Mullin – Bromsgrove School

‘My group has a wide range of physical and learning challenges, and I was impressed by the accommodating yet absolutely professional way in which all of our activities were handled.  Our less physically able learners were delighted to be able to participate in all activities in the same way as their able peers, and as such your facility provided an ideal and inclusive experience. Thanks indeed for an extremely enjoyable and highly valuable experience for all.’ – Jo Hodgkiss – Lecturer Telford College of Arts and Technology
