Do I have to purchase packages online?
At the moment we are only accepting online bookings. This way we are able to control numbers and implement necessary ‘social distancing’ measures. You can upgrade your package when you get here if you are not sure what to book.
For general bookings we are open from 12pm – 5.30pm. Parties can be booked for the 10am slot and other times by prior arrangement only. Public sessions start at 12pm and 2pm
If you have pre-booked you will choose a time slot to arrive, please make sure that you allow time to park your car and get to site.
Can I just turn up and have a go without pre-booking?
We are not able to guarantee ‘walk-down’ slots for customers anymore – we have to control numbers onsite and therefore we only allow 25 slots per session.
What to wear
We advise you to wear whatever you feel comfortable in along with sturdy footwear such as trainers or outdoor boots. Skirts, sandals and ‘Crocs’ are not permitted.
Always dress for the weather – please ensure that you have waterproof clothes if rain is forecast. Please also bear in mind that you will be asked to wear a harness.
Can my family and friends come and watch me?
Spectators can watch participants from the ground, but they must not walk underneath the elements or stand in the activity zones – feel free to shout words of encouragement. Much better if you can persuade spectators to take part! there is something here for everyone.
Parties Opening Times
We are open from 10am -12pm for pre-booked adventure parties (online booking available). We can accommodate party groups during general public sessions depending on availability. Call to enquire.
What happens if it rains
We offer all-weather activity! The course remains open in all weathers, except in high winds or during lightning. If we have to cancel your booking due to the weather conditions, a member of staff will be in touch on the morning of your booking to postpone your visit.
If you are unhappy to complete the course in the rain, we recommend that you check the weather forecast and postpone your visit to us for an alternative date – we need a minimum of 48 hours notice for all amendments.
Is there parking available onsite?
Parking facilities are available at Baggeridge Country Park, and any vehicles are left at the owners’ risk and subject to any conditions and the payment of any fees as may be required by the provider of such facilities at the site location.
Challenge Academy will not be held responsible for any parking charges/fines incurred whilst using the facilities they offer.
How to find us
We’re based at Baggeridge Country Park in Sedgley, five miles south of Wolverhampton centre and easily accessible from Birmingham and Telford.
Please be aware that the car park operates on a ‘pay and display’ basis. Our adventure facilities are located close to the Park Café next to the lower car park.
Can I make a change to my booking?
To change the date, or increase the number of participants please call or email us. We will need a minimum of 48 hours notice to make amendments to your booking, and this is all subject to availability, so the earlier you can let us know, the better.
Can I cancel my booking?
For all cancellations 14 days notice is required in order to receive a full refund. You can postpone or increase numbers if you need to but please give us 48 hrs notice.
What happens if I am late?
We ask that you allow plenty of time to park your car and prepare prior to registering onsite. We will always have to start on time because we need to deliver essential safety information to the group at the start of the sessions. Please let us know if you are running very late and we will advise on the best course of action.
What are the age and weight restrictions?
The minimum age for the Nets course is 4 years.
The minimum age for the ropes course is 5 years, 8 years for the 9m elements on the course. If a child is a little below the minimum age but they feel confident they can complete the course, we advise that a paying adult accompanies them as some obstacles may be beyond their reach/confidence.
Our powerfan and zipwire have a maximum weight limit of 17 stone (108kgs)
Do children need an adult to accompany them?
As a rule no – our safety systems mean that participants are always clipped on, no need to introduce a risk of any unclipping by adventurers. For the Adventure Pass and Nets Adventure the minimum age is 4 years – we recommend that adults accompany younger children and the less confident.
The Ropes course is for all ages from a confident 5 year-old but this is not just for youngsters. Minimum age for the 9m aerial traverses is 7. We ask that adults or older siblings/carers accompany those who are not so confident. Instructors are always there to ensure absolute safety and to help and support.
Adults are to stay on-site while the child is participating.
Can I get a refund if I don’t complete the course?
We are unable to issue refunds once the Safety Briefing has been completed and you have been kitted up in your harness.
I have a medical condition. Can I still take part?
Our staff are not medically qualified and so are not in a position to make decisions on the capability of participants due to medical conditions.
It remains your responsibility and judgment to decide whether your medical condition could cause implications in your ability to take part in the activities. You will be required to sign a consent form at the beginning of any session. You may also wish to contact your doctor for further advice.
How safe is it?
Our courses are equipped with the latest safety systems to ensure that participants are permanently clipped on and safe. You will not need to ‘clip on’ and ‘unclip’ at any point throughout your adventure – all attachments are undertaken by your Instructor. Your Instructor has been trained to the highest standards and has passed rigorous assessments throughout their training period before securing employment.
The course is checked daily to the highest nationally recognised safety standards. All Participants wear a full body harness.
I have an injury since making my booking – what do I do?
We are happy to postpone your event within 48 hours notice of your event, or alternatively, if the injured participant would prefer a refund, we can do this upon receipt of a medical note.
